Dan Moore as “Charlie Watts”

“Originally from Boston, Daniel Moore started out on the drums at age 8. He initially studied jazz ensemble and was running Real Book charts under Dennis Sullivan and John Payne, giving his first live performance before he was 12. Playing mostly in rock bands through high school, Dan sought to blend his jazz roots with his rock experience into a totally unique, edgy, style that could appeal to wider audiences. He formed a progressive fusion band Kilgore Trout in college, an instrumental-only septet with a three-piece horn section as the lead voice. Kilgore Trout eventually moved to Seattle in the early 1990s and performed over the next eight years, receiving Best Electric Jazz Group Award by Earshot Jazz in 1995 and winning the Grammy’s Regional Showcase competition in 1996. Dan also became passionate about studio engineering and recording, eventually producing his bands’ albums and incorporating spoken word samples into the band’s repertoire. After Kilgore Trout disbanded in 2000, Dan started a jam band with some friends and also sat in with various performers and recording sessions. Dan’s biggest drumming influences have been Steve Gadd, Vinnie Coliuta, Bernard Purdie, Stewart Copeland, Trilok Gurtu, and Dave Weckyl just to name a few.”
